This guide explains how to use the KEYDIY KD-X4 Key Programmer to add a KD Smart Key to a 2024 Ford Mondeo equipped with an RH850 BCM. The process involves reading the BCM anti-theft data on the bench, then learning the key via OBD.
1. BCM Removal and Bench Wiring
First, remove the BCM from under the front passenger seat and prepare it for bench data reading.
① Connect the wiring according to the wiring diagram.
② Connect the programming leads and OTG cable to your mobile device.
③ Install a 100Ω resistor between the yellow point and the red solder joint before reading.
④ If the reading fails, add a 1Ω resistor at the pink solder joint and try again.
2. Read BCM Anti-Theft Data
Open the KD app and follow this menu path:
Immo Programming → KD-X4 → Read File → IMMO → Ford → BCM_R7F701053 → Read
Wait for the reading process to finish successfully, then save the BCM data file locally for the next step.
3. Perform Key Learning via OBD
Reconnect the BCM to the vehicle and proceed with key programming:
① Connect the OBD cable and turn the ignition ON.
② Enter Key Addition in the key programming menu.
③ Load the saved BCM data file and confirm the key count.
④ Place the KD Smart Key in the induction area (armrest box area) and confirm key learning.
4. Verify the New Key
Start the vehicle with the newly programmed key to check whether the ignition and key functions work properly.
Programming is complete!
