This guide explains how to use the YANHUA Vtool 5C/5D Key Cutting Kits to safely disassemble the VW Golf 8 5D key inner shell.
Preparation
Take out all tools required for the disassembly process.
Place the key into the key clip with the button side facing you.
Press the button on the fixture and push the screw rod forward, then tighten it to secure the key firmly in place.
Step 1: Cut the First Weld Seam
Tilt the blade and align the tip with the welding seam.
Tap the blade firmly to cut open the welding seam.
Continue cutting along the weld seam carefully.
When reaching the clip position, leave it as it is and continue cutting from the other side.
Step 2: Process the Vertical Side
After completing the first section, stand the key upright and secure it firmly.
Align the blade with the welding seam and continue cutting carefully along the seam.
Step 3: Cut the Other Side Weld Seam
Switch to the other side and continue cutting the weld seam.
Important:
This side is close to the keyboard inside the key. Do not cut too deeply to avoid damaging the keyboard.
Align the knife tip with the welding seam and keep tapping the blade to separate the seam.
For this section, use the blade carefully:
Align the rightmost cutting edge of the blade with the weld seam.
Strike the blade and cut downward along the seam.
Stop cutting when approaching the pin position.
Step 4: Pry Open the Shell
Use a flat-head screwdriver to release the clips.
Then slowly pry open the weld seams:
Release the clips on both sides.
Carefully pry open the weld seams step by step.
Continue opening the shell slowly to avoid damage.
Finally, separate the rear cover and remove the keyboard.
