I’m working on a high-end Hyundai Ioniq, and try to use Launch X431 V Diagnostic Tool to rewrite new TPMS sensor ID for it.
Problem
I have swapped the front tires and rear tires, so I need to recode the TPMS values. Otherwise, the dashboard also has a wrong display while driving. It gets an alert near side front has a low pressure but it is going to be another wheel.
Solution
To solve this problem, let’s go to the Launch X431 V tablet.
Asian >> Hyundai >> OK >> 16 PIN DLC >> Select menu manually >> General >> Ioniq Hybrid (AE HEV) >> 2018 >> G 1.6 GDI HEV
System selection >> BCM(body control module) >> Integrated body control unit – TPMS >> Special function >> Wheel sensor ID writing >> OK
The procedure is valid only if you swap tires or put a new genuine sensor in the vehicle. I have printed this paper for the codes here, so what I would do is to revise all of sensors’ ID. I swapped the Front Left tire with Rear Left tire, the Front Right tire with Rear Right tire. So I gonna start from Rear Left tire.
Press C1-C4, input correct sensor ID for each tire, press “OK”.
Press “Save” when all were completed.
The next step is going to be a test, and make sure all the pressure model is going to be displayed on dashboard for all four wheels. I will start driving. As you can see, it only took me about 500 meters, and it read all the tire pressure. That is a very good sign which means I have put the right sensor ID.
This is how to write new wheel sensor ID using Launch X431 V 8 inch tablet on a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq. It is very simple and useful.
