KEYDIY has introduced a useful new feature on the KD-X4 that allows users to copy fixed-code remotes that have been intentionally encrypted by other devices.
In some cases, a fixed-code remote may be identified as an HCS rolling code during normal copying. If copied directly, the generated remote will not work properly. The new Encrypted Fixed Code Copy function can restore the original fixed code and successfully generate a working remote.
Step 1: Identify the Remote
Another device has intentionally encrypted this remote.

When performing a normal copy, the KD-X4 identifies it as an HCS rolling code.
Step 2: Test in Normal Copy Mode
Enter the Normal Copy interface and press the Lock button on the remote.

The device displays HCS Rolling Code.
Press the Lock button again for confirmation. If the remote is recognized as a rolling code and the copied key fails to function, it means the signal cannot be copied directly.
Step 3: Use Encrypted Fixed Code Copy
Return to the previous menu and select Encrypted Fixed Code Copy.

This special function converts the encrypted signal back to its original fixed-code format.
Step 4: Verify the Fixed Code
Press the Lock button again.
The KD-X4 now recognizes the remote as a fixed code.
Press the Lock button once more to display the fixed-code information.

Step 5: Check All Buttons
Press the Unlock button and then the Trunk button.
All buttons should be displayed as fixed codes.

At this point, the remote data has been successfully identified and is ready to be generated.
Step 6: Generate the KD Remote
Connect a compatible KEYDIY remote.
Click Generate and select Wired Generation.
The generation process will complete automatically.

Step 7: Final Verification
Test the generated remote.
Next, return to the Normal Copy interface and press the Lock button on the newly generated KD remote.
The signal will now be recognized as a fixed code.

This confirms that the encrypted fixed code has been successfully restored and copied.
Conclusion
If a remote is identified as an HCS rolling code during normal copying but the generated remote does not work, the new Encrypted Fixed Code Copy feature on the KEYDIY KD-X4 can help restore the original fixed-code signal and create a fully functional remote.
This feature greatly improves compatibility when dealing with remotes that third-party devices have intentionally encrypted.
