In this guide, we’ll show another convenient method—Cut by Photo. Using only a photo of the original Kwikset residential key, the 2M2 Tank can accurately identify the key profile and bittings, making key duplication even faster and easier.
Step 1: Open the App
Launch the 2M2 Tank application.
Go to Cut by Photo and select Residential Key.
Step 2: Select the Key Profile
Tap the first letter of the key brand and select:
Kwikset → 313 (1176/KS1), 6
Then tap the key profile.
The app will display a guided animation showing how to install the correct clamp.
Step 3: Install the Key Blank
Install the special residential clamp and insert the appropriate Kwikset key blank according to the guide image.
Once everything is properly installed, tap Continue, then select Cut by Photo.
Choose Camera to take a picture of the original key.
Step 4: Process the Key Photo
After taking the picture, tap Use Photo.
Adjust the size and position of the image to ensure accurate recognition.
Pay special attention to the shoulder position of the key, then move the red reference points to match each key cut (bitting).
When all points are correctly aligned, tap OK.
Step 5: Cut the Key
Start the cutting process.
The 2M2 Tank CNC Key Cutting Machine will automatically cut the key based on the photo analysis.
Once the process is complete, the Kwikset residential key has been successfully duplicated.
