Problem: The 2015 VW Golf cluster has gone black after using YANHUA Mini ACDP 2 to read the data. Is there a way to fix it? It won’t allow write back.
Solution
1. Restore Original Data
(1) Go to: MQB48 (VDO/JCI-NEC35xx Lock) → ICP ODO → Step Mode
(2) Select Step 3: Write Data to restore the original cluster data.
2. Verify Data Integrity
(1) Check whether the original data is intact and uncorrupted.
(2) If the data is damaged or abnormal, send it to YANHUA Technical Support for correction.
Preventing Future Issues
Always back up original data before making any changes.
Ensure you are using the latest software version of your YANHUA ACDP tool.
Follow manufacturer guidelines for VW MQB platforms to avoid cluster lock-ups.
By following these steps, you can often recover a blacked-out VW Golf cluster and avoid common pitfalls when using immobilizer and odometer tools.
